The Roxby Downs Scouts have been busy, dreaming up a host of new plans for the future.

Now numbering over 80 members, the Roxby Downs Scout group has one of the highest numbers of scouts per population in South Australia.
ìI wouldnít say weíre the biggest troop, but weíre definitely up there,î Scout Leader, Trent Burton said.
ìAnd we have some big ideas for the future.
ìUltimately, when we get a permanent base with a bit of land around it I would love to hold a big meeting and have scouts from all over Australia come to Roxby.
ìThere is a lot to be done before this can be achieved, but it is a long term goal and weíve already had expressions of interest from interstate,î he said.
Having recently returned from training in Adelaide, Mr Burton said there is a lot of talk around the state about the scouts in Roxby Downs.
ìBasically all of South Australia knows about the Roxby troop,î he said.
ìA group from Salisbury North is organising a camp at Woomera in the very near future and has invited our scout troop to participate in activities.
ìThey would also like to visit Roxby while they are in this area,î he said.
Another idea the scouts have come up with is the holding of a billy-cart/push-cart race.
ìAgain there is a lot of work to be done before this could be attempted, but if it goes ahead weíll be inviting other groups in town to participate,î Mr Burton said.
Looking even further into the future, Mr Burton has received an open invitation for the Joeys and Cubs to go to a combined hoppery and cubbery at Woodhouse in the Adelaide Hills in August 2008.
ìItís an exciting prospect and a very big event.
ìWe would love our cubs and scouts to attend,î he said.
