Premiers
In
A Hole

17.5.07

The seniorís softball clash of the titans at the weekend lived up to expectations with the result going down to the last innings.

Rebels 2 won the toss and elected to field first, putting last yearís Premiers, Devil Cats into bat.
The game was a tight affair, neck and neck as the pitchers kept the batters honest on both sides.
The fielding was of high standard especially from the junior players who are starting to revel in the senior competition.
When these two teams meet it is always close and exciting.
In their last batting dig, the Devil Cats scored 3 runs to take the lead 9-7 but it was short lived.
The Rebels recovered and with strong hitting which included a home run by their lead off hitter, they put on three runs to take the lead 10-9.
With about five minutes still to play the Devil Cats went for broke with the bat, scoring at will, but time was against them and the umpire called time and game with the result reverting back to the previous innings, giving Rebels 2 the points.
Last yearís Premiers have a lot of work ahead of them after losing their first two games of the season.
